Fathers Day June 19th

Trying to think of someplace to take Dad for Fathers Day – well look no further.

We have what is near and dear to any mans heart – Beer & Food!

For Brunch / Lunch – we will be serving our Full English Breakfast – Complete with Bacon, Sausage, Eggs, Potatoes, Fried tomatoes and Beans. $10.95

For Dinner after 5:00 pm we will having our usual Sunday Roast – with Roast beef, Roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and Veg. $14.95

So bring Dad and buy him a pint and a hearty meal – I’m sure he will love it!

Up Coming events

Just wanted to post the up coming events that we will be in – Hope we will see some of you there.

This Sunday June 12th we are going to be serving samples of our fine Ales at the Island Chefs Collaborative at Fort Rodd Hill – called Defending our Backyard. This event features local chefs using local ingredients to make some culinary delights. There will also be local wineries, cideries and breweries there sampling their wares. Saturday June 18th – there is Vic Fest. This is the first year of this event and it is located at St. Ann’s Academy downtown. There will be food, wine, beer and music at this all day event. Starting at 5:00 pm there will be live entertainment and a beer garden. St Ann’s is such a wonderful venue I am looking forward to a sunny day serving beer! http://www.vicfest.ca/

Sunday June 26th – there is Fernwood Bites. This event is from 5:30 to 8:00 pm at Fernwood Square. We will be serving food as well as beer at this event – stay tuned for the menu! There will be lots of great food,  beer & wine for you to  taste and sample.  http://fernwoodnrg.ca/

Take out menu

I am way behind on by blog postings. I am busy keeping up my facebook, website and twitter account. This social media is time consuming!!!!!!

As we start into another round of playoffs for the Canucks just wanted to tell everyone that we now have a take out menu. Limited as yet but it will be expanding.

We have Beef & Mushroom, Steak & Kindey or Chicken & Veg pot pies for $5.95 each. Jo (our chef) makes them using his Grandmothers recipes – these mini pies are full of meat and vegetables and have two crusts.

We also have Cornish Pasty’s – these have been made in Cornwall as far back as the 1500’s. Pasty’s have a pastry crust and are filled with either beef & potato, curried chicken or roasted vegetables. (the next  roasted veg ones will have feta cheese in them as well).  They are also $5.95 each.

Both the Pies and the Pasty’s are fully cooked then quick frozen – all you need to do is thaw them then bake in a 350 degree oven  for 15 min.  Add a salad and your dinner is complete.

Now a pie or a pasty is not complete with out a pint! Good thing we have 650 ml bottles of our beer to go as well –  Moonlight Blonde, Lunar Pale Ale, Blue Moon Bitter or Tranquility IPA.

So if you can’t dine in with us you can now take home a “Home Cooked” meal that you did not have to make!

Happy Mom’s Day

Happy Mothers day to all you Mom’s out there – if it weren’t for you we would not be here!

I have already talked with my Mom back in Ontario – she is 93 lives on her own in a two bedroom apt and just finished 5 pin bowling for the year!

Have a great day and treat your Mom to something nice.

Saturday Jam Session!

Starting this Saturday from 2:00 to 4:00 pm we will be holding an Acoustic Guitar Jam Session. We hope to make this a weekly event.

We will also be having our Cornish Pasty’s & a pint on for $9.95 – Beef & Potato, Curried Chicken or Roasted Vegetable.

Great Beer & Food at a fantastic price + Music – should be a GREAT afternoon.

Pasty & a Pint for $9.95

Starting tomorrow we will be serving home made Cornish Pasty’s and a Pint of Beer for $9.95.

There will be Beef & Potato or Curried Chicken and we will have a veggie option soon.

No time to dine in – problem solved – take your Pasty home with a bottle of beer.

New beer on Friday

We are having our 6 month anniversary this coming Friday the 26th of April. To mark the occasion we have brewed a Brown Ale.

The Brown ale will be on tap starting at noon and will be a perfect pairing for the daily specials of Beer Braised Lamb shanks and Toad in the Hole.

Come down for a pint of two and help us celebrate!
